5×7 ft (~22 sq ft) — Most apartments, smaller living rooms, nurseries.
At 5 feet wide by 7 feet long, this is the right mat for a defined play zone in a living room, a nursery corner, or a dedicated playroom section. It fits comfortably in front of a standard sofa without blocking the main traffic path. In a 10×12 room, it reads like an area rug, not a floor takeover.

6×9 ft — Open-plan spaces, larger living rooms, siblings.
At 6×9, this mat covers a serious amount of floor — enough for two kids to play independently without bumping into each other, or for a crawling baby to roam across an open-plan living/dining space. Sizing tip: If you're between sizes, go larger. A mat this thick looks best with a full flat lay — and one slightly too big for a space always looks more intentional than one that's too small.

Will it smell when it arrives?

Why one piece instead of foam tiles?
Interlocking EVA tiles are convenient but have a fundamental safety issue: the seams. Babies and toddlers can pry apart the individual tiles, exposing edges and creating gaps — and small foam pieces can become choke hazards. Our mat is one continuous piece — no seams, no tiles, nothing to pull apart. It's also easier to lay flat: no puzzle-assembly, no tiles that drift apart under a wriggling toddler. One piece down, done.
